URGENT ACTION

INTOLERABLE JET NOISE TO CONTINUE AND WORSEN!

At the July 21 ,2021 Noise Forum Meeting the FAA unequivocally said they will no longer consider the Oakland Airport Noise Forum proposals to move WNDSR!
This is a disaster!

The FAA pulled the same stunt on July 20 at a workshop with the South Bay stating that they would no longer consider proposals to move their problematic flight paths.
Below is how U.S. Reps. Anna G. Eshoo (CA-18), Jackie Speier (CA-14) and Jimmy Panetta (CA-20) responded to the FAA’s decision.
“On behalf of so many of our constituents, we are extremely disappointed with the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) decision not to adopt the Select Committee on South Bay Arrivals recommendation to create a new NextGen procedure for arrivals into SFO from the south using the BIG SUR arrival flight path. The Select Committee worked tirelessly for nine months from May 25 to November 17, 2016 and held thirteen public meetings throughout our three Congressional Districts with over 3,500 constituents participating in the meetings to develop the SERFR/BIG SUR consensus recommendations which we transmitted to the FAA on December 2, 2016. It has taken the FAA 55 months to respond in full to the recommendations. There is no excuse for why it has taken this long, despite our best efforts to engage directly with multiple FAA Administrators spanning three Administrations.”

The FAA has been leading us on, making us do their work to propose alternatives to the terrible flight paths they created and then turning down the proposals saying “they don’t meet FAA safety criteria”.

Since, none of our East Bay Congressional Representatives have publicly responded to our predicament, we need to put pressure on them now. We need their help to compel the FAA to change the intolerable NextGen flight paths. Congressional Representatives do listen to their constituents, so let them know how important this issue is to you.

Click on your Congressmember to urge them to step up and tackle NextGen noise and health issues. Consider adding your own thoughts to personalize the message.
