SICK AND TIRED OF FEELING LIKE YOU LIVE UNDER AN AIRPLANE FREEWAY?

Tell The Airports That Plane Noise Makes You Miserable

  • Easiest Way To Complain – Download stop.jetnoise.net
    • Click here for more detailed instructions for your computer, smartphone or any mobile device https://sites.google.com/a/jetnoise.net/how-to/
    • One click on ‘REPORT IT’ identifies the flight and altitude of the SFO and OAK planes. Click “REPORT IT” whenever you hear a plane near your home that bothers you.
    • A “Daily Report Summary” of your complaints is automatically sent to the email address you used when downloading the app.
    • At the end of the day, a report of your complaints is automatically sent to SFO, BUT NOT TO OAK. Make sure that OAK receives and logs your complaints by forwarding your “Daily Report Summary” to OakNoiseProgram@portoakland.com

Tell the FAA That Plane Noise Makes You Miserable

  • Western-Pacific Regional Administrator
    Raquel Girvin
    Raquel.Girvin@faa.gov
  • Complain directly to the FAA about airplane noise. Please note that you still need to complain to OAK and SFO separately.
    https://noise.faa.gov/noise/pages/noise.html

Aren’t sure what to say and how to say it? Here are some points to consider…

    • Be brief and to the point. Shorter messages are more likely to be read.
    • Let them know how the airplane noise disrupts your life every day and negatively impacts your quality of life, conversations, sleep, outdoor activities, children’s play, and homework. Whatever is being affected – let them know!
    • The concentration of narrow airplane superhighways, that repeatedly impact the same neighborhoods, is unfair and intolerable. Everyone benefits from the aviation industry, so the impacts should be distributed more equitably, not concentrated and focused over specific homes.
    • We need a quick response from the FAA with a speedy timetable towards effective noise mitigation. We are suffering and need relief.
    • Thank elected officials when they’ve done something you’re happy with, like supporting the Oakland Airport-Community Noise Management Forum’s NextGen noise mitigation proposals that were sent to the FAA in March 2017. If your local representatives aren’t listed below, urge them to add their support and press the FAA for effective NextGen noise mitigation.
