TOO MANY, TOO LOUD, TOO OFTEN
IF THIS IS HOW YOU FEEL YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE
The FAA eliminated dispersed flight patterns from our airports and replaced them with intolerably loud, low, and concentrated flight paths over just a few neighborhoods with its new NextGen program. Save Our Skies East Bay is made up of your neighbors who are suffering from the onslaught of airplane noise, just like you are. We are working with other East Bay noise advocacy groups, cities, elected representatives, airports, and the FAA to find workable noise solutions to restore equitable jet noise impacts.

OAK AIRPORT RELEASES THEIR DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT(DEIR) TO ADD 1 NEW TERMINAL AND 16 NEW GATES
17-July-2023: OAK currently has 29 gates and 2 terminals. They are proposing to modernize old gates and construct a new terminal with 16 new gates, increasing their gate capacity by 55%. Imagine how many more planes we’ll hear if they get their wish! Modernizing their current terminals is a good idea, but 55% growth is not! Go to the STOP OAK Expansion Coalition website to learn how to respond to this climate damaging, ear blasting proposal, or go to our SOSEB Urgent Action Page.FAA REFUSES TO MAKE ANY CHANGES TO EXISTING FLIGHT PATHS
3-Sep-2021: At the July 21, 2021 Noise Forum meeting, the FAA stated they will not make changes citing “safety reasons”, but did not provide specifics. On July 20 they gave similar news to the South Bay. We must leverage Congress to insist the FAA mitigate jet noise. Click below to send an email to your Congressperson.
