TOO MANY, TOO LOUD, TOO OFTEN

IF THIS IS HOW YOU FEEL
YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

The FAA eliminated dispersed flight patterns from our airports and replaced them with intolerably loud, low, and concentrated flight paths over just a few neighborhoods with its new NextGen program.

Save Our Skies East Bay is made up of your neighbors who are suffering from the onslaught of airplane noise, just like you are. We are working with other East Bay noise advocacy groups, cities, elected representatives, airports, and the FAA to find workable noise solutions to restore equitable jet noise impacts.

URGENT ACTION!

The FAA made it clear to the Oakland Airport Noise Forum and the South Bay SFO Round Table that they won’t move their current flight paths. It’s time for Congressional pressure on the FAA. Without it we will be stuck with unlivable and unhealthy jet noise. Click below to quickly and easily send an email to your Congressperson:

NEWS UPDATES

FAA REFUSES TO MAKE ANY CHANGES TO EXISTING FLIGHT PATHS

3-Sep-2021: At the July 21, 2021 Noise Forum meeting, the FAA stated they will not make changes citing “safety reasons”, but did not provide specifics. On July 20 they gave similar news to the South Bay. We must leverage Congress to insist the FAA mitigate jet noise. Click below to send an email to your Congressperson.

THE OAKLAND AIRPORT IS PLANNING TO EXPAND!

02-Sep-2021: Oakland Airport is planning to add a new terminal with 17 additional gates. It goes without saying that the noise and air pollution impacts we already suffer will be exponentially compounded as a result! Click here for more information.

BIG WIN FOR THE COMMUNITY

27-Apr-2021: The FAA bowed to community pressure and put their proposal to move WNDSR west ‘on hold’. They found a different ‘fix’ for the safety issues they were concerned about. Unfortunately WNDSR will remain over the spine of the hills and still needs to be moved from there.

WNDSR IN THE NEWS

27-Apr-2021: The media picked up on the good news regarding WNDSR not being moved west. KPIX TV produced a segment on 6pm news and there also was an article in Berkeleyside.
